Sunday, January 17th, 2010- I actually prefer RubyMine over TextMate but that might be because I use IntelliJ IDEA for Java development at work. #
- Woke up at 4am due to cat vomiting in bed. Not fun! #
- Note to self. It's smart to make sure that the firewall is automatically started when the system is restarted. #

- Checking twitter with a sleeping cat in my lap #

Sunday, January 10th, 2010- Just ordered a Canon s90! #s90 #
- Takes a while to remember what I was doing at work before Christmas #
- yay, the s90 has been shipped #s90 #
- finger better but still not good. I think I'll be forced to #climb really easy routes for the next 2-3 weeks. I'll try cold treatment aswell #
- Brr. -24C in Uppsala, Sweden this morning. #
- Found less mold than expected in the basement. Yay! #
- Got the s90 yesterday. Love it already! Great camera in small package. #s90 #
- Changed my old logitech keyboard for the new small apple bluetooth keyboard. Suddenly so much space left on my desk! #

Vinterns premiärtur
Sunday, January 10th, 2010Vaknade lite sent på lördagsmorgonen till blå himmel, sol och nästan -20 grader ute. Kollade isplanket och UNT:s israpport och såg att det på fredagen hade plogats på Ekoln från Skarholmen till Hammarskog och dessutom var en 2 km slinga plogad i Dalbyviken.
Det var inte svårt att övertala Camilla och efter en snabb frukost så började vi leta fram alla långfärdsskridskogrejor.
Solen sken i Skarholmen när vi gjorde oss redo för avfärd.
Till Vreta Udd så var det mesta dels bra is efter det blev det betydligt sämre och värst var nästan den plogade slingan i Dalbyviken.
Mästerskrinnaren vilar lite.
Väl framme vid Hammarskog så kände vi oss ganska nedkylda så vi beslutade oss att ta en kopp kaffe med tillbehör.
Det fick dock bli en snabbfika för att hinna tillbaka till Skarholmen innan solen gick ner.
Med en sol på väg ner i ryggen så var turen tillbaka lite kyligare men färgerna desto vackrare.
Väl hemma igen var det skönt med en öl i bastun efter en underbar vinterdag på isen!

Retiring Old Ropes
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010The Black Diamond QC Lab have done some testing on old ropes and got maybe not surprising but still scary results.
The rope broke already at a force of 6 kN which equals what a 5mm nylon cord can handle according to (Climbing Gear Strength Ratings). The same page lists 9 kN as the theoretical max. force possible in a climbing fall.
Keep that in mind when spring arrives and you take out your old rope again.

Slow start of the new year
Saturday, January 2nd, 2010After quite a bit of champagne on New Year’s Eve we spent most of yesterday in front of the TV.
First we watched Black Cat, White Cat from the comfort of our gracious hosts’ sofa. An intensive, hysterical and brilliant movie. If you, like me, haven’t seen it do so!
After we got home we watched an episode of Navy CIS and some Whale Wars before we made dinner and watched a double episode of Navy CIS before ending the evening with The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.
Quite a nice day of doing nothing. A good start of the new year!
