Tablets are the culmination of what Steve Jobs wanted to create at Apple from the beginning, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak said Monday.

‘The tablet is not necessarily for the people in this room,’ Wozniak told the audience of enterprise storage engineers. ‘It’s for the normal people in the world,’ Wozniak said.

It’s easy to say that tablets will change how we use computers but it’s much harder to say in what way the usage will change. However, that the tablet will get a more central role in our lives compared to a stationary computer or a huge laptop, just by being so easy to take with you everywhere around the house is a huge benefit.

Now the competitors will have to play the catch-up game again, and that never works. If HTC and especially Nokia are to have a chance they cannot aim to make rivals for the current iPhone. Their goal should be to crush the iPhone with the same level of innovation that the original iPhone changed the whole mobile phone scene.

If they don’t they are doomed.

My next phone will of course be the new iPhone 4 when it eventually becomes available in Sweden.

Still no news about when the iPad will be available in Sweden.

Maybe this will be the to-do application that I will actually use. I’ve tried OmniFocus, Things and now lately The Hit List, but after a while I just stop using them.

I guess it gets to bothersome to keep an application running and constantly update it. The result is always that I add lots of things that I need to do, never check the list and the next time I check back I’ve done a bunch of stuff and can cross out like five to ten things. So I’ve had no help of the items actually being in the application.

This Remember application on the other hand seems a lot more lightweight. Maybe that is what is needed for it to work for me.

The bigger newspapers have already got to use it though and below are links to a few of the articles. The conclusion seems to be positive.

I can’t wait until it’s released here in Sweden.

iPad will be available in Wi-Fi models on April 3 in the US for a suggested retail price of $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB, $699 for 64GB. The Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available in late April for a suggested retail price of $629 for 16GB, $729 for 32GB and $829 for 64GB.  iPad will be sold in the US through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers.

iPad will be available in both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G models in late April in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. International pricing will be announced in April. iPad will ship in additional countries later this year.
