I ordered the new Nikon D7000 Sunday evening and today after work I could pick it up at the local postal delivery place. By finding a somewhat unusual photo gear retailer with an online store which showed that the camera was in stock I could side step the 80+ queue sizes at the more popular camera stores.

Right now it feels a bit daunting with the multitude of buttons and settings compared to the D40 but I’m sure I’ll figure it out with time.

I took the above photo of our beloved cat enjoying the warmth from the fire at ISO 8000 and it’s actually quite usable. Very impressive!
