Sarah Brightman’s Harem CD

When I got Sarah Brightman’s Harem CD as a birthday gift last summer I got happy. However, after listening through the CD a couple of times I felt disappointed. I thought it didn’t compare well with her earlier La Luna CD.

I’ve lately been playing the Harem CD again and I’m starting to change my mind about it. In my opinion the Middle East inspired sound on Harem can’t compare with the more classical setting on La Luna but it still has its qualities. I think I need to stop comparing this CD to her earlier works, and instead see this as another of Sarah’s many sides. Up until now La Luna has been my favourite album, with some tracks from earlier albums standing out, but I think given time and enough playings Harem might move up to the top spot.
