So far when I’ve seen video blogging mentioned I’ve dismissed it with a “What would that be good for?” and “Who wants to see someone talk about nonsense?” because admit it, many blog entries are total nonsense.
But then I found Joi Ito’s link to David Weinberger’s video blog response to Charles Cooper’s article at CNET and here we have a guy who’s well spoken and knows what he’s talking about. And suddenly it’s interesting to watch and listen to him tell his opinion. Probably more interesting than it would have been to read a long written reply.
So I guess video blogging has a place and I’m sure it will be used more and more frequently. However, I think one should think twice before video blogging every stupid thing and instead use it only for appropriate content. No one wants to watch a video blog entry about what you bought from the grocery store.
