Today I’ve been on a whole-day scrum course. Scrum is a lightweight agile method used for software development. The course was quite good and interesting, though as we have already been working in a similar fasion for a while, nothing was really revolutionary. But it strengthened our view of what it is and how it should be applied which is good as it is easy to understand scrum in theory but it can take a long time to master it in practise.
It will be interesting to see how this works out because the problems we are having now are not process related per se, so just changing to scrum isn’t going to change anything. But hopefully scrum will help us better understand what is not working and then we can work on solving the real issues.
