Go Ronnie!

I watched Ronnie advance to the second round in the World Championships last night by defeating Stephen Maguire 10-9. But it was a close call for O’Sullivan if Maguire would not have missed an easy black in the 17th frame Ronnie would have been out of this year’s tournament. Now he got a second chance and took it by winning the last couple of frame and won the match 10-9.

Stephen Maguire was one of the biggest threats in the path to the final for Ronnie, so now all is set for him to win the title again. Brilliant!

Irish Masters

I’m watching the final in the Irish Masters between Ronnie O’Sullivan and Matthew Stevens and it’s just amazing. Yesterday’s semi-final between Ronnie and Mark Williams was really good with both players playing really good snooker. But I think today’s final is even better. Matthew has finally found his good play again after a horrible season and he’s giving Ronnie a real fight over each frame.

I’ve spent the weekend moving most of my stuff to the new apartment and today I managed to get a 50 kg telly on top of me then slipping on some snow, so I’m feeling quite exhausted and the smart thing would be to go to sleep. However, given how exciting the snooker game is there’s no way I can do that!

So let’s see if the match ends before I fall asleep in the sofa.

The Masters

Dott – Maguire this evening in the masters was an interesting match, really tight with very few mistakes from either player. Dott finally won it and will go on to meet O’Sullivan in the next round. That is going to be an interesting match, especially since Graeme Dott won over Ronnie with 5-0 the last time they met.

Let’s hope Eurosport will show that battle!
